**Magdalena Ridge Observatory Interferometer** [[http://www.mro.nmt.edu/|(MROI)]]
\\  The MROI will be a multi-element imaging interferometer operating at wavelengths between 0.6 and 2.4 microns with baselines of up to 340 meter. Its primary technical and scientific goals are to deliver model-independent images of faint and complex astronomical targets.\\ \\  Three primary science areas for MROI are:\\ \\ **• Star and planet formation\\  • Stellar accretion and mass loss\\  • Active galactic nuclei**\\ \\  MROI is in 2008 in the final stages of its design phase, with a full budget and schedule detailed and most major subsystems well-defined. First fringes are expected in 2009 and complete commissioning by 2012.
