Magdalena Ridge Observatory Interferometer (MROI)
The MROI will be a multi-element imaging interferometer operating at wavelengths between 0.6 and 2.4 microns with baselines of up to 340 meter. Its primary technical and scientific goals are to deliver model-independent images of faint and complex astronomical targets.

Three primary science areas for MROI are:

• Star and planet formation
• Stellar accretion and mass loss
• Active galactic nuclei

MROI is in 2008 in the final stages of its design phase, with a full budget and schedule detailed and most major subsystems well-defined. First fringes are expected in 2009 and complete commissioning by 2012.
