Update on May 26, 2020

Night-time observations at the CHARA Array resumed on May 26, 2020.   We are currently operating with a limited number of staff on site.  All observations will be conducted remotely.  Please see the Remote Observing page for more information on preparing for upcoming observing runs.

Announcement on March 19, 2020

In accordance with California's stay-at-home order, the CHARA Array has suspended on-sky operations as of March 19, 2020 and will remain closed until further notice. Staff members who live on the mountain will continue to maintain the site, while all other staff are working from home. Mount Wilson Observatory is currently closed.

The proposal deadline for the 2020B semester at the CHARA Array has been extended until April 7th, 2020. This applies to proposals for internal time and community access time available through the NSF OIR Lab. Visit the Applying for Observing Time page for more information.

The annual CHARA Meeting, originally scheduled to be held at the University of Exeter in the UK in April 2020, has been postponed until 2021.

We wish all of you good health and hope that you stay safe in the weeks ahead.
