CHARA images of the magnetically active giant star  λ Andromedae shows large cool spots on the surface. The star was imaged of over it's 54-day rotation period in 2010 (left) and 2011 (right). 

 

The CHARA images above show Mollweide plots of λ Andromedae for the 2010 epoch (left) and 2011 epoch (right) where the entire surface is shown across all latitudes.
