Shared Google Drive
The link below takes you to a shared google drive folder (2026_CHARA_Workshop) that has several notebooks and data used during the workshop.
Running Tutorials with Google Colaboratory
There are two ways you can access and run the notebooks from the shared folder using Google Colaboratory.
If you do not want to save the changes you make:
- Open the shared folder to confirm its contents
- Go to Shared with me directory on your google drive (drive.google.com)
- Right click 2026_CHARA_Workshop, select "Organize" -> "Add shortcut"
- Select "My Drive" as the location for the shortcut (our notebooks assume 2026_CHARA_Workshop is located in MyDrive)
If you want to save the changes you make:
- Open the shared folder to confirm its contents
- Go to Shared with me directory on your google drive (drive.google.com)
- Download the directory - it will download as a .zip file
- Unzip the file
- On your google drive, select "+ New" -> "Folder upload" and upload the unzipped directory to "My Drive" (our notebooks assume 2026_CHARA_Workshop is located in MyDrive)

Running Tutorials on your Local Machine
Here are links to the notebooks as provided by the tutorial leaders. You can also find the tutorials on the shared google drive. To run them on your local machine, follow the steps in the individual tutorials:
Running the OITOOLS Tutorial
For this tutorial, we are using mybinder.org
Running Tutorials on the Data Reduction Machine
If you have an account on the data reduction machine, you can run the python tutorials (PMOIRED and RADPy). First, download the notebooks and data to your account. Then, activate the workshop26 virtual environment with the command "source workshop26". With the virtual environment active, run "jupyter lab" in the directory with the notebooks and run them. Make sure the kernel is "Python 3.13 (workshop)". If it isn't, change the kernel.
If you need an account on the data reduction machine, let Jeremy know.
